Mental Toughness Course

Client Section

Sport Psychology services are available for individuals, coaches, and/or teams. With these services, clients learn to use the same types of sport-specific mental skills employed by Olympic and professional athletes. Most services are aimed at helping athletes overcome obstacles that prevent them from developing their full athletic potential or to taking their game to the "next level."

Examples of these skills include the following:

Individuals

Goal Setting
Establishing Pre-Practice and Pre-Competition Routines
Managing Energy
Managing Emotions
Managing Self-Talk
Improving Focus/Concentration
Developing and Maintaining Productive Self-Confidence
Managing Competition "Jitters"
 Psychological Recovering from Injury
Coping with Career Transitions

Coaches

Improving Communication Skills
Motivating Athletes
Developing and Managing Effective Team Dynamics

Teams

Setting Team Goals
Team Building
Improving Team Cohesion

A sport psychology consultation begins with a thorough assessment. The assessment process starts with an initial interview and may also include: interviews with the coaching and training staff, team meetings, psychological testing, performance profiling, and direct observation during practice and/or competition. This assessment process focuses on clarifying areas of strength and areas of weakness and results in a recommended plan of action listing areas to be addressed, methods to be used, an estimated time frame to work on the identified areas, and an estimated cost for the services.

Dr. Moncier also speaks on a variety of topics that can be tailored to specific coaching and/or team needs. Presentations typically range in length from an hour to a full-day workshop.
